Leopardstown Christmas Festival
Four days of top Irish jumps racing over Christmas — a key early Cheltenham signpost.
The Christmas Festival at Leopardstown, run over four days from St Stephen's Day, is Ireland's festive jumps highlight and an early, high-quality signpost to Cheltenham. Headed by the Savills Chase and a clutch of Grade 1s, it pits the best Irish-trained chasers and hurdlers against each other at the mid-point of the season.
Leopardstown's fair, galloping left-handed course rewards genuine ability, and — as with the February Dublin Racing Festival — the strength of the Irish programme means this form travels well to the spring's biggest meetings. Horses that impress here are regularly aimed straight at the Festival.
